The Irish National Hot Air Balloon Championships return to Waterford

The Irish National Hot Air Balloon Championships return to Waterford

The 39th Irish National Hot Air Balloon Championships will take place in Waterford from the 20th to the 25th of September 2009 following a magnificent championship experience in Waterford in 2008.

The international Pilots were glowing in their praise for the organisers, the Airport and the people of Waterford and South Kilkenny. The event was blessed with good weather, the friendliness and welcome from the people made the balloon crews experience, in Waterford a most memorable one.

The 2009 event, to be held from 20th of September to the 25th of September and is expected to be an even greater spectacle with flights from the Peoples Park and a mid week Night Glow weather permitting.

Over 40 Hot Air Balloons will be invited to the championships, which is the longest running National Championships in the World.

Details of the event are currently being drawn up and will appear in local press closer to event. Contact Joe Daly, Championship Director on 0872559238 for further details.
