Last Wednesday evening 120 competition winners descended upon Storm Cinemas to be the first to see the brand new Sex and the City movie and all vying for the ultimate prize sponsored by Waterford Airport – a Sex and the City style trip to New York City.

Following the eagerly awaited draw at the movie premiere at Storm Cinemas, Waterford Airport presented lucky Jennifer Croke with the tickets for a Sex and the City style holiday to New York. Jennifer had entered the competition on WLR FM to win tickets to see the movie at Storm Cinemas and on the evening was the lucky finalist to be drawn out of the drum by WLR FM’S Mr. Big, Oliver Carroll.

Jennifer said, “I am so looking forward to my trip to New York – it’s a brilliant prize. My partner and I didn’t think we would get a holiday this year with looking after our 8 month old son, Liam, so I’m absolutely delighted! I’d like to say a huge thank you to Waterford Airport, WLRfm and Storm Cinemas for my trip!”

Jennifer will fly from Waterford Airport to the new Amsterdam destination and from there will take connecting flights to New York for a fabulous 3 night stay in the swanky ‘W’ Hotel off Times Square.  Jennifer will be guided around the ‘Sex and the City’ pals’ favourite spots on the famous SATC tour. Jennifer also received $1,000 spending money for the ultimate shopping spree on 5th Avenue.

On premiere night all of the cinema goers were greeted with a West Coast Cooler drinks reception and goodie bags from Mulligan’s Pharmacy. Everyone was suitably kitted out for the ‘Best Dressed Character’ competition to compete for the second prize and the 120 Samantha’s, Carries, Miranda’s and Charlottes were all looking…. fabulous!

There could only be one winner and social diarist of RSVP Magazine Jean McQuillan had the tough job of picking just one.  Lisa Dooley dressed as Carrie Bradshaw, the columnist and fashionista from the famous four, and won the WLR FM prize of a shopping trip for two to London.

Commenting on the success of the event Graham Doyle, CEO at Waterford Airport, said “Everyone has had a fantastic evening – we thought it was a great opportunity to show that our passengers can reach long haul destinations like New York from our hub airports such as Amsterdam Schiphol, which has almost 200 onward routes.”
